Regionals is KIO's business convention. Happening every year in December or January, this is the convention where we celebrate all the work the outgoing Regional Board has done in the past year and where KIO elects the next regional board.
Regionals 2019 recap!
This year, Regionals was held south of Cincinnati, Ohio the weekend of December 6-8. We started out the weekend the best way KIO knows how, with Friday night Shabbat services!! Led by Liz Hemmer and Jace Dery, our 65th regional Sh'lichim, these services were one for the books. As this was the last convention of the decade for KIO, the decades dance theme was totally tubular! Thanks to the awesome DJ skills of Lil Windex, this dance was filled with fun beats and lots of fun!
Saturday was defiantly jam-packed, as we spent the morning in services and then listening to the 65th regional board give their states. It was so awe-inspiring to see how much this board accomplished in their term, and their work won't be forgotten. After lunch, KIO spent some time relaxing by participating in mental health actives including a spelling bee and bracelet making. Shuk wasn't something to miss either, as chapters brought their best spirit wear to the table and made some money moves. After chofesh and dinner, KIO was lead in a meaningful Havdalah by Liz and Jace as we moved into the election of our 66th regional board (see below to learn more about our 66th regional board).
KIO spent Sunday morning celebrating all of the past accomplishments over the year. Congrats to B'yachad SG BBG and Heart of Ohio AZA for winning chapter of the year and congrats to all of our award winners! It's so exciting to see how much each member of KIO has done over the past year, and to for them to get recognized for their efforts!
We wanted to give a huge shoutout to Emily Renco, Gadi Bandler, and Sam Lichten for coordinating a regionals for the books! We also wanted to say thank you to KIO's 65th regional board for all they did over the year. Your work didn't go unrecognized and we know you worked so hard for this region.
